Player Transfers and Residency Ottawa Area |
A house league player from District X living in association X1 would like to play with his friends within district X but in association X2 or would like to play out of District X to play in District Y and association Y1 | Parents of House League players wishing for their child to play in an association other than their home association within the same district must do the following: Approach their home association and declare their wish to have their child play with a different association (you may have to register, depending on policy);
NOTE 1: Prior to a transfer being approved, both presidents must first ensure that the transfer will not affect their program (affect the size of teams or deny players from joining a program). NOTE 2: If the player wishes to transfer again next year, the same process must be repeated |
Competitive try-outs and transfers |

A player wishes to try-out with a competitive association within the home district. | *IMPORTANT* - Register with your home association first and advise them that you will be “Trying-out” Find out what the competitive association’s tryout schedule is, register and attend the sessions. In District B, the competitive associations are as follows:

If the player wishes to play with a competitive team in a different district | *IMPORTANT* - The player must first try-out with the home district competitive team and MUST be released by the home district competitive association Secondly, a “Competitive Transfer Tryout” form must be completed which must be signed by the receiving competitive association, the home association and both district chairpersons before the player can step on the ice. If the player does not make that team, the player must return to the home association. |

A player [ermanently moves to your association from another Bytown association, from a different district within the Branch (District 9 to Bytown, or Nepean District to Bytown and your association. |

NOTE: You must read the “Domestic Player Transfer and Registration Policy”. It provides important information like Deadlines and required documentation that must be included when submitting the document. The above document is also a must read if the move is a result of a couple separating or divorcing and child custody might be an issue. Ensure that all custody documents have been reviewed The receiving association will process the transfer request and advise the parents once the process has been completed. The player will then be able to step on the ice. IMPORTANT: The Attestation residency form must be approved prior to the player stepping on the ice. |
