BMHL End of Game Rules to Note
New definition
End of Game >>> As per the District B meeting held on Monday November 28th, 2022 the following End of Game definition is now in effect for the remainder of the 2022-23 BMHL regular season and playoffs.
A BMHL game is not considered over until the Referee has signalled to the two Head Coaches that they are free to release their benches.
Once the benches are released any indiscretions occuring after this time will be designated as occurring after the game, ie- as a Post Game infraction and will be identified as such in any resulting game incident reports. Players and/or team officials may be subject to additional sanctions for offences commited once this Post Game time period has commenced.
Reminder from our BMHL Rules and Regulations:
Game Curfew >>> Only Arena Staff can curfew BMHL regular season games and the Round Robin portion of games during the BMHL Playoffs.
It is not the responsibility of the on-ice officials or the timekeepers to signal the end of game curfew.
So coaches, please remind your team officials, parental units and team fans of this rule so we do not have people yelling at these volunteers for something out of their control.
That being said, if the arena staff for whatever reason fail to enforce a game curfew signal at the appropriate time then the game shall continue until the game clock expires or the arena staff eventually blow the horn for the teams to leave the ice. No one should be harassing Arena Staff in any way, shape or form if they fail to do so.
